Justin P. Thomas is a partner at Shay Glenn LLP, whose practice focuses on patent prosecution and strategic patent counseling. Justin has experience working with early-stage, mid-sized, and large companies, helping clients navigate fundraising, investor due diligence, FDA approval, IPOs, and acquisition.  Justin also works with venture and corporate investors to analyze FTO and patentability issues.

Justin represents clients in the fields of medical devices, electronics, renewable energy, semiconductor fabrication, MEMS, software/AI, biotherapeutics, and proteomics. In the medical device field, Justin has extensive experience in ultrasound imaging, therapeutic ultrasound, neurostimulators, tissue ablation, cardiac pacemakers, cardiac pumps, replacement heart valves, thrombectomy, sleep apnea, dialysis, and reproductive health. Justin also works on semiconductor and clean energy technologies including power grid monitoring, electricity generation, battery storage, semiconductor fabrication, circuit design, MEMS, and LiDAR.

Justin received his J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles in 2007 and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA in 2003.

Justin is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
