Yasir Diab is a patent agent at Shay Glenn LLP. Yasir’s technical expertise spans the mechanical, electrical, computer, and medical devices arts. Yasir is experienced in drafting, preparing, and prosecuting both domestic and foreign patent applications, specifically in the area of biomedical devices, surgical instruments, electrical engineering and circuitry applications, computer science and database applications, financial technology, cybersecurity, computer vision and artificial intelligence, business methods, and machinery.

Prior to joining Shay Glenn LLP, Yasir was a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for seven years, examining applications relating to electro-mechanical machining tools, robotics, and autonomously operating and moving machines.

Yasir was also an intellectual property analyst at Texas Tech University’s Office of Technology Commercialization, responsible for analyzing the commercial prospects of faculty research in areas pertaining to microfluidics, nanoscale engineering, graphene production, 3D printing technology, smart grids and transformers, wind energy technology, and petroleum exploration techniques. Yasir completed the National Institute of Health’s (NIH) Advanced Studies in Technology Transfer graduate certification, wherein he delved deeply into biomedical business development and the handling of intellectual property collaborations during technology transfer.
